Retention, Motivation, and ~Real-World~ Application
My instructional design approach focuses on creating learning experiences that are engaging, relevant, and lasting.

I design with three priorities in mind: retention, motivation, and real-world application.

My goal is to transform learning from passive consumption into active problem-solving, so learners leave not only informed but confident in applying what they’ve learned in their roles.

My Approach:
I guide my instructional design choices based on three pillars: Retention, Motivation, and Application.
I believe learning should not only inform but transform, helping learners retain knowledge, stay motivated, and apply what they learn in authentic contexts.
-
Retention: I use cognitive scaffolding, spaced repetition, and reflective activities to ensure concepts stick.
-
Motivation: I design experiences that foster autonomy, relevance, and engagement through gamification and learner-driven pathways.
-
Application: I embed learning in real-world scenarios using simulations, case studies, and branching tasks that mirror workplace challenges.

How I Design:
My process begins by activating prior knowledge and connecting new content to existing mental models. I then immerse learners in authentic challenges, provide opportunities for choice, and reinforce learning through feedback loops and microlearning bursts. Every element is intentional, crafted to make learning meaningful, engaging, and performance-driven.

Why It Works:
In my designs, I combine constructivist principles with motivational design and experiential learning strategies. This approach ensures learners not only understand concepts but confidently apply them in real-world situations, leading to lasting performance improvements.
